  RUSTY STEVENS & CHAD QUARLES

Bio: Rusty Stevens
"Thinking Outside the Box"

Since I was a child, I have always been a dreamer. I remember watching motorcyle racing as a child and always knew that some day I would be riding motorcycles. When I was young, I would try to build go-carts in my backyard. I would work for days in the summer trying to turn old oilfield scrap into a race car of some kind. It never turned out very well.

While walking along a creek with a friend in 1984 in Oklahoma, I found a Honda motorcycle that had been left for junk. We dug it out of the mud and  brush, loaded it up, and brought it home. In a few weeks, I found enough parts to get it running. In  a couple of years, I was the only kid on the block with 5 to 6 motorcycles that I had worked hard for or traded. I learned how to rebuild motors and transmissions. When I was 12, I rebuilt my first Volkswagen motor. From that point on, I have loved the off road experience.

In high school, my focus changed to drag racing, but on a small budget, it was very hard to compete. I would like to give credit to my shop teacher, Jay Holmes, for all the time he gave to teach me a trade that I truly loved. At the end of my high school days, I started spending time at the Little Sahara State Park in Oklahoma riding the dunes on three and four wheelers then graduating to sand rails. I would spend days hill climbing, drag racing, and, as usual, a lot of time broke down.

After graduating from high school, I wanted to attend an Auto Votec school, but I had had a job all through high school which prohibited me from receiving a government grant or funding of any kind, so I attended 2 years of Community College studying the basics. I had no motivation to continue classes.

I became a golf superintendent after a few years. I had a love for the golf industry and for construction. In 1995, I started my own business in landscaping. With drive, determination, and a little luck, I grew one business into 5 multi-million dollar corporations.

After a few years of being absent from the motor sports industry, I set a challenge for myself and my friend to find the most competetive off road vehicle and said "Let's get back to what we always truly loved and dreamed of doing!".

After months of research and training, we are ready to compete and play hard just as we do in our business environment. We realize we are the "new guys" on the block, but you shouldn't underestimate us. (On the other hand, I love to be underestimated!)

I would like to encourage all race fans to join us in our challenge and especially thank Bill McBeath and his crew for all their help, support, and mentoring. Also, I want to thank B. J. Baldwin for his sportsmanship. B. J. is a true champion on and off the track! We appreciate all the help.........NOW, LET'S KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bio: Chad Quarles

My home is in the Texas Panhandle, lived here all my life. I am married to my wife Amy for 10 years now. We have one daughter Marlee who is now 4. Our family loves to play in the dunes or river beds every chance we get.

At an early age, before I could crawl, I was riding in a sandrail at the Little Sahara Sand Dunes in Oklahoma. The sand dunes was our second home and way of life for many years. I can remember hundreds of dune buggies and atv's lined up next to the drag strip and wondering how long it would be before I would be old enough to race. By the time I was 11, I was racing 3-wheelers in local competitions. By my high school years, the races had faded away and the times were busy, but the passion was still there. Soon after high school, I was fortunate enough to meet several great people who shared the desire to go off roading. Soon after, we were going to the dunes or anywhere else we could find to play and race. Then, we all bought sand rails and spent almost every night working on and tuning them. Three years later, I started entering the local sand drag competitions, which we either won or broke, but still had a blast doing.

In 2005, I was presented with a great opportunity to open my own business in the automotive repair industry. So, in April 2005, I opened Prestige Autobody & Accessories, specializing in collision repair and truck accessories. Enhancing vehicles, whether it be repair or appearance, has always been a passion. Our business is constantly growing, with plans to become a multiple location operation.

Because it has been such a busy decade, our focus had shifted to business and we lost touch with off roading. In 2007, we decided it was time to get back to doing what we loved to do and do it on a larger scale than ever before. What better way to do that than in the desert with the perfect combination of off roading, friends, and serious competition! Due to our competetiveness and craziness, we felt the only way to go was the Trophy Truck Division. Although this is above and beyond anything we have ever done, we are up to the challenge.

I would like to say thank you to the team at CPF for all their help. Thanks also to B. J. Baldwin and Bill McBeath for their assistance. We look forward to the upcoming races and would like to invite everyone out to visit the races and enjoy the experience with us.
